How location granularity actually works

Most rank trackers sample one city per country and call it a national average. That hides the local pack variation that decides whether you appear at all — and it is the single biggest reason two tools disagree about the same keyword.

Granularity is a cost decision as much as a technical one. Every extra location multiplies the crawl, so the useful question is which locations change the answer.

An AI SEO content writer researches a keyword's search results before it drafts, so the article is written against what already ranks rather than against a model's general knowledge. Nightwatch Content Studio crawls the pages on page one for your keyword and market, works out which subtopics they cover, builds a brief from the gap, writes the draft against that brief, and then scores every edit you make back against the same results.
General AI writers generate text from a prompt. They have not read the search results for your keyword, so they cannot tell you which subtopics the ranking pages cover, how long those pages are, which terms they use, or what claim nobody has made yet. Content Studio does all of that first, shows you the coverage matrix, and only writes once you have approved the brief.
